The very first time you run a poker site's software, it will ask you to download the latest update. After the download is complete, you will see the login page. For example below, you will see the login page of Poker Stars (one of the largest online poker rooms).

The Login button on the bottom right is your starting point. The following screen will pop up next...

If it is your first time at the site, you will need to create a New Account. Click the “Create New Account” button. Fill out the required information including, User ID, password, name, address etc. Be sure to enter a valid email address. It will be used to confirm your account before playing.

TIP - If you don't want to use your main or home email address, you can always create a new email address with Yahoo or Google's gmail. They are both free and can be accessed from anywhere.
