David Williams began playing poker in 1997, after having a successful run as a "Magic: The Gathering" champion. Shortly after beginning his poker career, David was mentored by professional poker player, Marcel Luske. While he prefers to play live poker, David plays a fair amount of online poker, frequently playing multiple games on multiple computers. He won an entry into the World Series of Poker through a qualifier tournament on Poker Stars, and has been successful in other areas of online play, as well.

Among David's most notable achievements to date:
- 2004 - 2nd in World Series of Poker Main Event - $3,500,000
- 2004 - 2nd in World Poker Tour Borgata Poker Open - $573,000
- 2004 - 5th in Five Diamond World Poker Classic - $121,057
- Third on money list in 2004.
- 2005 - 7th at World Series of Poker Limit Holdem $1500 event
- 2005 - finished 3rd on game show "King of Vegas"
- 2006 - 4th in World Poker Tour event - $280,000
- On cover of Card Player Magazine
